Great gun; I've had several S&W 3rd Gen .45s from the early 4516 to a 4505......... the only one I still have is a 4566....... not to big, not to small but IMHO still heavy for ED concealed carry. Good duty size .45 with the right leather and Hogue grips!

.45 EDC IWB for me is a Sig 245 or 220.

I have two of them. Excellent guns IMO.

I carried one in New Orleans years ago. Too heavy for me to carry around now but really nice handling .45s.

I am a fan of 45 ACP. I currently have two CS45's, two 457's, one 4513, one 4516, and one 4566TSW. Earlier this year I sold a LNIB 4566 because it is the only one, I could not shoot well. I now regret, that I didn't try putting on some Houge rubber grips. That may have improved my shooting accuracy.

Ya the Hogue rubber grips on mine give me a much better hold/grip.

I bought a used one about a year ago because it's cool, and a good value.
Mine shoots very well for me. Good sights, good trigger. Mine likes my 200 grain XTPs at 975 fps.
I'll bet the Lawman that owned it before I, felt a little better when going into a bad situation, with it on his hip.

I have a 4566 I traded into a dozen years or so ago from a 4586. I'm a die-hard TDA guy and couldn't get happy with the DAO version.

It's the only .45 I have, and probably will stay that way. I have carried it in a Galco Combat Master OWB holster on a stout belt, and it's wasn't bad for full day carry.

It shoots great, but I've toyed with replacing the rear sight with with an LPA or MMC adjustable, both of which I have on-hand.

I use the S&W curved grips, it seems to fit my hand better with the narrow grip frame.

I used to have a CQB 4566. I didn't carry it but did carry the lighter CQB 4563 at work for a few years. I doubt I ever put more than a hundred rounds total through the 4566, but put a lot more than that through the 4563. Never a malfunction with either; very fine pistols..
