Anyone have any idea what the value of this firearm would be?

a S&W Model 500 Kerry Earnhardt edition.

8 3/8 barrel, polished stainless, engraved, 24kt gold inlaid #74 and picture of NASCAR race car.

Also his signature engraved.

Serial KDE00XX.

Any idea of value, S&W verified these were a one run very limited edition, Supposedly only 18 actually produced.

Was a run of 200 but not completed.

Car was changed following year to Race car #30 so nobody has any info on this firearm

Thanks for any help. Truly grateful if anyone has knowledge not in any books or price guides.

Welcome to the Forum

To start off with, you make no comment as to the condition of the firearm in question. Without condition, no guestimate of value can occur.

Unless you are associated with or an admirer of whatever is being Commemorated, most lightly embellished commemoratives hold no special value and sell for the same or sometimes less than similarar models in like condition. These variations usually have a roll mark or two which are sometimes gold washed and often come in a display case

Then you have the more heavily embellished commemeratives. These values are dependent on how much embellishment is done to the firearms. These can include special finishes, hand or machine engraving of various amounts of coverage, gold inlays from line work to figures, high grade grips from exotic woods or even African Ivory, etc.

If your firearm falls into the first category of light embellishment, value could be anywhere from About $850 to about $1150 depending on the condition of the firearm and the completeness of the package (original box, accessories, paperwork, etc)

However, it sounds like your firearm falls into the more heavily embellished category, we would need a much better description and some images to attempt to produce a value range.

What is the firearm's condition?

Is the engraving hand or machine?

Is the gold inlaid or applied?

How much coverage is involved?

What type of grips is the firearm wearing?

How is the package presented?

Etc.

The Model 500 is mint. Shot a few rounds but overall 9.5 condition. Rubber grips factory original.
Laser engraved, and only (18) produced. Typically most commemorative models are produced in the hundreds and sometimes more. Also Nascar fans and S&W fans I believe have interest in many low number collectibles. So being a SW member maybe you can find more info on this particular firearm. Collectibles in my past of only 57 years have always sold for a premium especially in beautiful condition...
