Did the optional .22LR cylinder have a serial number that matched the gun? Are these cylinders factory-fitted or interchangeable with other Model 53s?

The SCSW mentions that the cylinders are not interchangable with the Model 17 or 18.

My 1961 made Model 53 has the optional .22 rimfire cylinder and it is serial numbered to the gun. AFAIK, these Model 53 cylinders are not interchangeable with other 53's.

I bought a 53 in the early 70's. I had the dealer send it back for the long rifle cylinder. It went through Microsight in Belmont CA. They either sent it back to the factory or did the work themselves. The 22LR cylinder does not have a serail # on it. I do have the receipt for all of the work that was done.

A follow-up question:

The SCSW states that an aux .22LR cylinder for a Model 48 includes the yoke. The Model 53's aux cylinder does not. Why is this?
