S&W Model 57

Have a line on a Model 57 no dash in nickel 4" with a pinned barrel in like new condition what would be a fair price in todays market..

More information needed to provide other than ballpark value estimate. If it is a S serial number first year gun in 98%+ condition with cokes and box/papers it could go to $2k+/-. If a well used but nice N series with after market stocks, no box, maybe $600. Can you provide SN and more detail; pictures would really help. Good luck.

It's a later gun, 1980ish, but pinned and probably recessed. I'd love to buy it for $800 but wouldn't expect to find it priced for less than $1000 where I shop. Looks very nice, good luck.

Almost looks like the hammer has been rubbing the frame to me. Still a beauty.

I don't think $1050 is too much.
The gun looks like great condition, and it does have recessed chambers; you can see the cartridges in the cylinder, and the rim is mostly obscured.
$150 rounds of 41 Magnum ammo could cost @ least a dollar per round, so after taking out shipping, you're into the gun for about $875.
I'd buy it were I in your position.

Plus, it has the football cutout stocks, which I think look much better and has greater value than the speed loader cut.

I too don't think his price is too high . You can pass if you think it's too high and somebody else will jump on it and never look back . If you , or someone else buys it and it has to be shipped , " Do NOT ship the ammo with the gun " ! ! ! They must come separately boxed .

The shipping will likely cost $50. The ammo is worth at least $100. If you want a nickle 57, and you want a 4" barrel, how many have you seen for sale lately? Not a bargain, but not overpriced either. If you just want a 57, wait a while and a shooter grade 6" blue will show up a little cheaper.

I would buy it at that price.

In a New York minute. Clean four inch model 57s, let alone nickel which I really like. They are really hard to find. I would jump on it in a heart beat for that price even without the ammo. You will die of old age before you see another one like it for that price.
