Anyone seen a 5906 with exploding grenades or little bombs stamped on several different parts of the gun ?

There are a couple recent threads on unusual markings on Smith Automatics. My guess is that your pistol has the EU test and acceptance markings. If so your pistol came back to the USA from use in one of the countries participating in the agreement which led to your pistols markings.

Very true but most of the Israeli pistols just have our import mark. The stamps on the above description sound like they match one or more of the EU acceptance stamps, possibly Belgium`s. Israel was not a participant of the EU system.
Just a hunch.
