Hi all,
I just ran across a beautiful model 66 no dash, unfired, (except by the factory I think) not a scratch on it with box and manual. Original grips. The shop is asking $599.00. Probably would be close to $700.00 otd.
Would that be an acceptable price to pay for this revolver? It's a 2-1/2".
Thanks

Sounds like a nice gun, and I'm sure other will say it's worth it, but $700 for a 66 is high to me. Now, it's only high by about $100, so if you really want the gun, don't let $100 get in your way. Most of us spend more than that on coffee and newspapers in a few months.

i consider it a fair price and would have no problem paying that myself.
599 plus tax and other fees is reasonable, especially for Kali. A dealer would be silly to price it less....anywhere.

If this is the one at River City, better get down there early. I looked at it yesterday and passed on it for an unfired 6 1/2" blued 29-2. Now I'm thinking I should have snagged them both. Based on how hard these are to find in that or any condition in our area, I think the price is more than fair. Hmm, only 15 minutes until they open...on your mark, get set...

In my area the out the door price would be at least $100 to high but we don't have any restriction in Arkansas.

Isn't that funny/strange how different regions have such vast different prices? I am in Indy and if I go to Gunbroker 80-90% of the pre lock S&W's are cheaper than you could find around here.

it may be a little high, but its a 66 no dash. i traded a walther p22 and a 66-4 with a four inch bbl this year for one. retail value for the pair... 250 for the walther, 425 for the 66-4. so it may be worth it for you to get it. the one i got is near mint. light turn ring, original grips. no box or papers... GET IT!!!

I passed on a 66 "no dash" about a year ago, it was $600 with no box. I'm still kicking myself. You might find a -1 or -2 cheaper, but you don't find a 66 "no dash" in box very often and when you do it probably won't be less than $600.

Sometimes I go ahead and buy it, knowing I'm overpaying some. My "rationale" is how many hours, gallons of gas etc could I spend looking, gun show admission etc before I find it for $75 less and what if I never find it back for that price. Don't recall what I paid for my 66 no dash snubbie, but it was fun shooting it this morning!

I have forgotten what I paid for my no dash 66. I just know that I wanted it,I had the money, and I bought it and have enjoyed it immensely. Life is too short to let a few bucks get in the way of something(not spending the house Pmt etc disclaimer).if you want it and like it, go for it!

I just bought a used 66 no dash with a four inch barrel from a dealer. It is my second one.

The grips do not appear to be matched. One side is much lighter than the other. Yet the gun is in excellent condition and is very tight.

OTD price without box was $350

I looked at a 66 No Dash 2-1/2" today. Used probably 95+% No Box etc. It was marked at $600.
I have a 1980 12 Ga. F&M Browning Citori Hunter that I have not fired in probably 4 years that should trade about even for it.

Bob
