I'm looking for the operating rod that engages the ratchet on one end and pushes on the extractor rod on the other end for a S&W New model 3 (44 Russian).

If you don't have one, any suggestions on where to look?

I've posted this also in the WTB section - hope it's OK to post here as well

Tried Mr. Shaffer, no luck

Thanks,
Eric

There are 4 different parts that combine to push the extractor on a NM#3. Beginning at the barrel, there's the Base pin, then the Extractor rack, then the Extractor spring, then the Extractor rack pin that contacts the Extractor. Take a look at David Chicoine's book, "Antique Firearms, Assembly & Disassembly". page 250. Finding all the parts you need from a parts supplier is probably not likely. Better to look for a junker donor gun at gun shows, etc. Ed.
