S&W Old vs New

Your welcome, it was a blast. That old revolver was sweet to shoot and it seemed happy to be in use again.

My older S&W revolvers have the smoothest actions but let's face it there
well broken in too. To make my new S&W revolvers have the same smoothness I remove the side plate very carefully and lube the metal to metal contact moving parts with a only paste. The actions smooth right out.
Example; The trigger on my new S&W model 57 and model 58 had two different feelings to them trigger wise. One was tougher than the other. I lived the rougher one with only now both triggers have the same exact feel to them. I like all my actions and triggers to have the same feel. This way I can shoot them all equally and as accurately too.

Adding only on the sear can make it feel like a expensive trigger job was done. It can reduce the trigger pull by up to 50% right away and more as it works in.

The older weapons had better QC. Which means, there was less problems with the older ones.

The new ones are still great guns. But now days it depends on luck to get one with not many problems, lol

I'll have to wait 55 years to see if you're right. I wonder if my M&P will still shoot as well by then :) All I did was clean that old revolver up a bit , it probably hadn't been fired since Hee Haw was on TV
