S&W Pistol Rebates Coming?

The promotion doesn't start until April 1. If people knew waiting 5 days would save them $75 there'd be no sales until then. ;) :)
Well, what dealers around me are doing is putting all their Shield, Bodyguard and SD sales on layaway until Saturday... :D ... otherwise they would be out of business last week and this week too. :)

I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop... namely, what are the other manufacturers going to do to compete, especially Ruger? I already cancelled my longstanding order for a new MA-compliant Ruger American Compact 9mm pending word on any possible Ruger retaliatory rebates.

One LGS is doing sale if you "pre-order" by the 31st. That way thye get the sales mounting up and the customer gets the rebate when you pick it up a few days later. May also get their orders in ahead of the crowd. ;)

Does anybody have a copy of the rebate they could post.To see which models, calibers and how many you can buy.

My local Dealer told me yesterday that Smith was going to offer a $75 rebate on the Shields starting April 1. He said that the Springfield promotion going on now with the 4 free mags was really hurting sales for the other manufacturers.

Except here in Mass where Springfields are not compliant.

Two more days to go and nothing from S&W yet about a rebate. The rebate for $75 is supposed to start April 1st... You know what April 1st is? Hope I'm wrong, but we'll see.

Nothing against Springfield but I shot the 45 before buying the shield 45.
They could give away 10 mags and a trip to the bunny ranch and that weapon would never be for me....

Which 45 was it and what did you not like about it?

A friend had and still does have the XD-S 45. He was kind enough to let me put about 5 mags down range. Did not like the grip at all as far as how it fit "my" hand. Could tell for me with the grip texture and the recoil i would not enjoy shooting this weapon long term.

As i said nothing against the company or the XD-S. My friend loves his but it's not for me compared to the Shield 45 for comfort and shootability.

We all have our quirks when it comes to handguns...those are mine.

I so hate the rebate schemes. I'm still waiting for a $100.00 check from Warn for a winch I bought and I'm still stinging from a rebate that I had to fight for from Remington.

The only place I get excited about rebates is Costco, where they're instant and at the cash register. That said, I would definitely like a new .45 Shield for $75.00 off.

agreed ..... rebate processing can take months to process...Better option to sell more faster would have been a $75.00 price reduction at the counter.

Rebates make more money for the dealer and the MFG. Roughly 1/3 of all rebates on sales are never redeemed. (It may be much higher now--Data is old.) Rebate forms lost, not filled out correctly, missing the required PoP or just forgetting to send it in before the deadline.

As side note, I sure would like to have a Victory in my collection. :)

Just came in:

Perfect timing on rebates. I have been contemplating a few 45's and have read all the good hype on the Shield 45 so the rebate of $75 'sold' me and my LGS has them on sale at $355.
Nice work S&W and thank you for helping my decision to put another S&W in the safe!
