Hope this is the right place for this, if not feel free to move it.

In talking to the owner of my LGS this afternoon he informed me the factory is offering a $50 rebate on any new revolver purchase.
This rebate is valid for all purchases made through the end of the year.

Happy turkey day to everyone.

While I appreciate the heads up, most LGSs will say anything to make a sale, so it's a good idea to do some research.

S&W has a "Winter Promotion", buy any new M&P Bodyguard 380 pistol or any new S&W Revolver and recieve a $50 Prepaid Mastercard. Offer is valid 11/15 - 12/31. Here's the S&W web page:

Not to be a wet blanket but go to the M&P forum and read about the Shield rebates. You may reconsider. My rebate submission was rejected because the store receipt did not state what was purchased. The dumb dumb at the store hit MISC MERCHANDISE instead of handgun and the company that is handling the rebates for S&W said NO WAY.

They should just knock $50 off the selling price and eliminate the BS. I read that one of the main reasons that companies use a third party is so that they can reject submissions and the company can say it wasn't us.

Yes, rebates are a way of not really lowering the price, having a lot of people forget the rebate, or fail to file correctly, and, to top it off, they get your information which they sell to everyone and Vlad Putin.

Still, if you dot you tees and cross you eyes, you may save a bit of money.

6 months and still waiting for the shield mag loader/mags/ammo rebate.Don`t hold your breath waiting for them to send anything.Doubt if l ever look at a S&W rebate as a deciding factor again.

I learned a long time ago not to shop depending on a rebate. I bought a Luepold scope with a $50 rebate and it took me 6 months to get it. I had to submit it twice as the rebate company told me there wasn't enough info. Then they told me when I resubmitted to be sure to enclose the original receipt. I told them they already had the original. I resubmitted, (copy of the original) and they accepted it.

They like to play a lot of games. Homey don't want to play anymore.

Submitted my $75 rebate back at the beginning of the year, Milano finally entered it in the system Jun 23rd and said they mailed a check Sept 8th. I have yet to see the check. I heard it would still take 10 weeks for them to actually mail the check so I waited. Finally found a phone number to them and just called. Someone actually answered the phone and helped me. She said that it comes in a small envelope as big as a postcard and just says PCM on it (so basically looks like junk mail and most people throw it out). Another great way for S&W or PCM to save money as people just get sick and tired of waiting. Anyways she said she would check with the back to make sure it wasnt cashed and if it wasnt they would reissue another one and have it in the mail. Who knows how long that will take? So everyone make sure you look thru every piece of mail you get. Also here's their phone number 856-786-8630 good luck

In industry parlance, industry hopes for lots of rebate "breakage", which is when people buy the item but don't do every dance exactly as required to get the rebate.

Yesterday I received my rebate package from the summer M&P 2 sales offer. It came signature required as it contained ammo. The rebate was for 2 magazines 2 20 boxes of ammo and a magazine loader. The wait was a few days short of 5 months. I had almost given up. But they came thru.

A few years ago I did a Smith & Wesson rebate that was M&P mags. It took forever, but I got them.

I just did the $75 Shield rebate this year. It was like 4 months, but I got the postcard size check in the weird envelope. I open every single piece of mail I get. It keep my credit rating good. :D

I found out almost by accident that I qualified for Remington's $50 870 shotgun rebate and got it submitted 3 days before final postmark date. The submission was just approved according to their web site for refunds.

$199 Shield, free shipping and five dollar transfer was the best gun deal I ever got.

The rebates come, but you all but forget about them until they arrive.

Checks are better than prepaid cards. Cash is king, and the cards only allow purchasing, not cashing out.

I got a $100 Colt prepaid card "rebate" on a 1911. That one, the salesman put 1911 on the receipt instead of the current Colt model number. That took pointing out to Colt the serial number matched the correct product model and I got the "rebate".

So yes, you get the rebates. Just be careful to follow all directions and give it a lot of time.
