S&W revolver quality (?)

IF you can find a Smith 547 buy it but they have become a bit pricey. I do not like moon clips but have to settle for them with 40S&W and 45 ACP.

Here is a great and very detailed review of a new Model 19 by a Smith and Wesson trained armorer who worked on the old stuff back in the day. I love the old stuff and the new stuff.

FWIW, I do not have any S&W revolvers with the built-in safety lock because I find them unsightly. If someone "gave* me one, I would not remove this safety feature for this reason:

To my knowledge, removing the lock doesn't alter trigger pull weight at all. I've never noticed that on any of my Smiths that got the lock removed.

Nor would I have a ND under stress, which is the focus of Mr. Ayoob's video.

I was a big fan of S&W revolvers back in the pre-lock days but I gravitated to 9 mm semi-autos. As I get older with more issues in racking slides, etc. I'm looking at going back to revolvers. Just looking for opinions from those who should know as to the quality of the newer S&W revolvers. One of my target guns would be a 686 Plus. (I think I can live with that big hole in the side of the gun now or as we used to call it "the infernal lock".)

I got a 686 Plus four inch and it is exceptional.

For a two inch .38 Special revolver I carry a Kimber K6xs and it is a quality six shooter.
