S&W Semi-Auto Picture Thread

Here are my pair of 3rd gen autos (for now).
Had always been a Browning high power fan but never thought that much about these S&W autos until my son picked up a 1076.
Had to find a S&W 10 after I shot his and picked up my first S&W auto a nice 1066 about this time last year then sold my Glock 29 to buy the 4043 as an EDC pistol a couple months ago. Now I'm hooked.
These just "feel" right in my hand (unlike the tactical Tupperware) and I shoot SO much better with them than a Glock!
My 1066 and 4043

Looks good! Hope you enjoy it!

Two questions:

- is that a late model MIMS hammer on yours?

- I have that same 1911 gun mat. I wonder why you never see any S&W gun mats?

Yes, it is a later MIM hammer. I'm seeing some weirdness on this pistol since it has an odd TFJ serial. Can't find it in the Catalog. Seller laid out a long convoluted story about the gun, it came with a factory plastic box, not cardboard and the tag has an odd catalog number on it. Will be calling Smith for any info soon.
It does, however appear to be almost brand new. The rail edges are as sharp as razors!

We might need to hit up TekMat for some S&W mats!

Here's the other side, since this is a pic thread. :)

Is that a "U" stamped on the left frame side above the magazine release button, or just a fuzzy? (I have a 4013 that has one stamped on it but it's on the front of the trigger guard's left side.)

Yep. Long story, but sent to factory for inspection. Didn't receive a full tear-down, but they stamped it. I'm probably going to start a new thread on this one.

This 5906 is the only one I've got, but it satisfies me for the present. The 2nd pair of photos show off the Hogue Pau Ferro stocks that I reworked a bit.

I've always been more of a revolver guy but cleaning them to new condition every time has become painful for my arthritic hands, so easier to clean semi-autos have become my favorites lately. Here are my three S&Ws (so far).

I also have a Kimber Stainless Target II in .38 Super and wish S&W would chamber a 1911 in that caliber.
