I want one of those next!

They are getting hard to find.
A friend found this one for me. Someone needed some cash, walked into his shop and he bought it. Called me and he made a couple of bucks and I have one sweet-tack driving 745.

Just got this one, an unfired 5906. Been looking for one for quite a while, just changed the grip from curved to straight.

I know that a lot of folks like them tupperware framed guns.. I guess that I am old school and still in love with the all steel ones.. even though I do own one that has tupperware, only because it is used at work.

Dustin, Welcome to the Smith Forum. I think you will be pleased with your first pistol. The M&P40C is my issued service pistol and I've been carrying it for about a year now. My department traded in several different models (mostly S&W's) to switch to the M&P line. Our uniformed folks carry the full size M&P40 and the M&P40C is carried by plain clothes personnel and command staff.

My compact M&P rides nicely on my hip in a variety of holsters, both on and off duty, and it has served me quite well. It has been 100% reliable and I feel that it actually recoils less than the Glock 23 that it replaced. I also love the versatility of being able to carry it with the pink rest magazine for better shooting, the flat base pad for ultra concealed carry and when I am in uniform I carry 15 shot magazines for spares. The 40C is also an ideal back up to the full size M&P40 as you can carry the smaller pistol and use the larger magazines if you ever needed the backup.

Best of luck with your new M&P compact and let us know if you have any questions. - Mark

Mark,

Thanks for the welcome and all the info! I'm thinking about a serpa style holder for regular carry and maybe for concealed carry too. I think I may pick up a fullsize M&P mag. for backup like you recommended! Do you know where I can get accessories for these guns? Only S&W make the mags for this gun correct? Was thinking about getting a laser too. All in due time though.

So I have had my SW40VE for about a month now and have had 2 range trips with it and absolutely love it!!! Figured it was time to put it in this thread. Sorry about the photo quality, it was taken with my camera phone. Here it is...

I own A mP9c and am expecting to purchase a holster for it soon. Making a decision on a good holster that does not waer the finish, allows for my crimson trace laser, and tuckable for less than $80 has been more difficult than I can ever imagine. It would be so helpful if you can post a pick of your mpc in holster. If you can add how it looks on, that would that much better.

Smith500,
Very nice collection, Looks very complete, But I see one too many of the 46 and 76.
I would be more than willing to help you trim down to a more balanced collection if you would like.

Howdy,
Don't feel bad Vonfatman, I only have two.
Both are working guns. The DK had a Briely bbl and spherical bushing fit to it and serves as my bullseye .45 and the 457 is fairly new to me but so far a reliable piece of gear.
Lots of nice guns in this thread!
Thanks everyone
Mike
