A friend strongly recommended a holister for my M&P Shield. He has another brand name 40 cal. And he said the holister is sweet. He told me to google Serpa Level 2 holisters. I did so and as far as I can tell none of these models aren't suitable for the Shield.
Any advice?
Looking for something for the range mostly.

Smith & Wesson has 14 holsters for your Shield on their web site.

My personal favorite is a Kusiak Leather IWB with the attached mag pouch.

Consider a Remora holster. Google them. They have a 25% discount sale right now. I've had these for my Glocks, and I ordered one last night for my Shield. These should be especially good for the Shield. These holsters really work as advertised. I've used them a lot. They won't break the bank either. For a Shield, it's model 6ART, and I recommend the sweat shield option. Another holster that I really like, is the High Noon Bare Asset holster. I have one of those for each of my pistols. They make one for the Shield, and I'll soon order one of those for my Shield too. Great price too.

Thanks for everyone's input. I just ordered the Mini Scabbart for a S&W Shield. If anyone owns one if these I would like your review on the product.

I have one. The shop sold me on it when I picked up my shield. For OWB its small and simple and I like it. I think it feels well made. It has an adjustment screw on it to tighten or loosen it.. mine feels just right as is. The rear has one big loop with a cutout in the middle. I found for ME, that if I put my 3o clock loop right in that cutout, and run my belt through it holds it in place well and won't move along the belt. I didn't read up on it but I think that might be what the cutout was meant for. I tried it from 2-4 and it felt good in all the spots. I think you'll like it and just need to figure out where it works best on you.

Now I'm lookin for IWB. I just wore my whitehat maxtuk and I am not much of a fan. Feels too bulky and I guess being skinny its not exactly ideal. Maybe I just need to break it in more. But I'm still looking. So far PJ and the softuk are next on my list to try.

I would recommend the PJ holster. Good price, custom made, Thin, light weight, high quality and not small size. It feels like you're carrying just the gun with a clip on it. Here are a couple of photos with my XDS...

I thought Shield Holister retired from Smith & Wesson years ago.

I saw that same press release. After receiving the highest signing bonus in history during the first round draft, sports fans everywhere were stunned to learn that Shield Holister had been traded to the Miami Dolphins for a relatively unknown running back whose name no one can spell or pronounce.

Danaknows....check out the post above this for great leather at great prices for you Shield..if you do, then your name will be eponymous with knowing..:)

I am strongly looking into the PJ holster. I got one of those hybrid IWB, but it feels a bit bulky because with the gun, and the section of kydex that comes out on either side and is screwd down, it makes the shield like 5 inches wide. instead of about 3(measured on angle from the rounded tip of the trigger guard to the top of the gun)

I'd definitely second (or third or fifth) the PJHoster IWB rig for the Shield. It's a nice simple package that adds almost nothing to the size of the gun. Personally I need to shed a few lbs before I can comfortably try appendix carry (still working off Thanksgiving dinner), but at the 4 o'clock position, I almost forget it's there.

I thought Hollister was the preferred clothing brand of 13-18 year old girls....

I've been carrying the N82tactical original holster. It's IWB and very comfortable. It is not kydex, but they have a molded plastic one (called the Professional model) that adds some retention, if you are looking for that.

(I'm new to the forum, recently received the Shield and figured the forum would be a great asset).

Hollister is popular clothing for the trendy male as well.;)
Spellcheck may turn up many nonplus avenues of instant humor though.
Nice call Sip
