My local gunshop just got two Shields after about a 6 month wait, he has no idea when he will get more. He put one out for sale Saterday and it sold within and hour, he put out the other yesterday at 1pm and it sold by 1:30. He was asking $539.00, no one else in town has them. this is in Austin, Texas. I suspect that the price will drop to below suggested retail after the pipeline fills and the people who have to have one right now get theirs and are willing to pay a premium.

Not bad retail is around 469.00.I have seen others on other sights for 600-750,I would gladly pay that,

Someone recently posted seeing $999 at a gun show. We all know list is $449. With what is going on these days, who really knows where the prices are going. Just depends how bad you want one. I don't see prices dropping in the near future. I just hate to see those AH that are ripping the public off. They are still paying the similar price of the pre Sandy Hook incident (low $300's), but jacking their prices up because of the gun/ammunition frenzy. That is the same when there is a natural disaster, hurricane or tornado, and they start ripping the public off. It would be nice if we all could say were not buying until the prices come back to normal. But there are those with money that are willing to pay the price, and so they keep raising the price to see what the market will bear. Look at AR's on gunbroker. They have doubled or more in the last month, but the manufacturers have keep their prices fairly stable.

Saw few yesterday at gun show asking $649, $699, and $799 ridiculous...

Then again i paid the sucker price for some cci .22lr.....

Good things come those who wait. The prices WILL.come back down. I bought one about 3 weeks ago for $400 OTD. Being in the right place at the right time is a big plus! :D

This ^ ^ picked one up yesterday for $439. Didn't think I would ever find one. Good luck to ya!

I saw last friday that kygunco had .40 cal shields on their website for $529.00. They were in stock for almost 24 hours! Someone ended up buying them cause they were gone by sat night.

I refused to buy one at a LGS for $469, since the price was over MSRP. 1 week later I found one at Academy for $399, and I was glad I waited.

The night before my wife actually got to fire a Shield, I was holding one at a gun show. I darn near bought, but again, it was $450 and I'm not sure I want to even pay that much for it.

I got mine for $440 plus tax but I have called around and not seeing any. I got mine the 15th of december and they had a bunch but not now. I will be glad when all this calms down and all the people who bought a gun after getting caught in this madness decides to sale it and the used gun market gets flooded. I hope anyway

Here in California it's a completly different market. There will be soon for sale, the California rostered model complete with a red shark fin like loaded chamber indicator which pops up and down per battery condition and then there's our SSE (single shot exemption) loophole law that allows us to purchase for a an additional fee what most the rest of the states sell over the counter. The wait here is the same as other states, less than a trickel flowing in the pipeline. I was fortunate to DROS a 9mm M&P Shield last weekend and including the SSE fee it came to $499.00 + DROS + tax. Truly a unicorn at a very fair price here in The People's Republic of Kalifornia.
