S&W Sport question

JaPes..I really dont believe that Smith and Wesson are trying to put the sport into a different class of competition. I firmly believe that they know that if you buy a Sport you will be bitten with the EBR disease. Also it is like a gateway drug to other firearm sales and the Sport is such a fine rifle for the price you will probably be a repeat customer. Then if you are a first time gun owner, you will have to have a pistol, and the M&P pleased you as an AR then the M&P pistol series has to be just as good. Its the retailers who are moving the Sport up into a different class and that is just because of the demand for a quality affordable AR style rifle. I am trying not to use the term weapon because that brings on evil connotations for the virgin gun owners. LOL

i found my M&P15OR from a private seller at a local gun show so dont leave that option off the table... plus sometime the dealers there are usually running some sort of deals on them... might not be much better than your LGS but ya never know... you might find a gem like me :D

Look at what S&W is doing with the new pistol "The Sheild." It to is priced far enough below the normal M&P pistol line that it to is more attractive to first time buyers. That may look them in for higher dollar versions.

True. Even though the 15-Sport's MSRP has increased, AR prices have increased overall. I also agree with you that S&W's quality generates repeat business. Heck... my S&W journey started with a 15-22...now I have 4 S&W's... and I'm thinking of trading/selling my non-S&W firearms to acquire more S&W's.

Got mine on Friday. Was looking for a couple of weeks and I had given up. Stepped into a local shop to get a stripped lower and guess what was on the shelf. Nice new sport, which now resides at my house. $649 plus tax
