Anyone know the origin of these S&W pins?
I see these and others on ebay regularly so they must be reasonable common.
These apparently were received from a Smith & Wesson salesman in the 80s.

Unless they've got the S&W monogram or rollmark on them they are probably just imitation novelties. I can't tell but it looks like the cuffs do have the monogram so I may be wrong. It's a possibility as Smith & Wesson has made belt buckles, holsters, and all kinds of accessories over the years.

I had a nice pewter one that was a pretty accurate representation of a K-frame. I can't be sure--it was a long time ago--but I believe I ordered it from S&W.

Thought I'd go through the 80s catalogs and I found a page in the 1983 gifts and accessories catalog.
See picture with details here:

For many years, S&W has given away various hat & lapel pins, depicting hand guns of various model, or logos or other S&W memorabilia, at the annual SHOT Show and at various dealer locations. I have about 35 different examples, going back about 40 years in time. They are usually very well done items, in that you can read the "Smith & Wesson" stamp on the barrels of the handguns, etc. These show up on Ebay frequently. The catalog tie pins have the same guns as the pins, however the hat pins have many more different handguns that the tie pins. Ed.

Back in the day S & W had a store near their Mfg plant in Mass. and they sold all kinds of things from hat pins, t shirts etc. It has been closed for a few years and I don't know if the public range adjacent to the store is still open. Then for a short while they had a store in Kittery Outlets in Maine which also closed.

Thanks Pop
