A pic of the left gripstrap without the grips would be nice.
A good pic of the sideplate would be nice.
Then, just more pretty pics would be nice.
Some data is easy to supply-
It looks like all the guts are there, and they are very clean.
BTW- I see the screws in a pile. The FRONT screw in the sideplate is a fitted screw, and should always be replaced in the front hole. You have 2 outa 3 chances to be wrong, so segregate it when disassembling.
The engraving looks very nice, and has an English flavor to me. I do not think it is factory. Do you see any remnants of Brit proofs? Do I see traces of proofs in the cyl flutes?
If the MLG 2004 is engraved rather than stamped, it is quite probably the engraver's initials. If you post good pics of the engraving and the signature on Engraving Forum.com - The Internet's Largest and Fastest Growing Engraving Community - Largest Hand Engraving Community, 5,216 members there is a good possiblility of identifying the engraver.
I JUST FOUND THIS OUT!!MAYBE WRONG? BUT!!THE BARREL IS 6 1/2" ONLY 800 OF THESE WERE MADE FOR BRITISH EXPORT I THINK? BLUE BOOK 30TH EDITION PAGE 1678 SECOND LISTING DOWN?44 SPECIAL CONVERTED TO 455 MKII..THIS GUN IS GOING TO GIVE ME,WAYNE ULCERS. LOL
