lots of good knives still being made here. Many manufacturers have an import and a higher end domestic collection they sell. Buck even has a custom shop.

Following up on my post above. It's funny, apparently, I ordered two of these knives. I ordered one from Midway USA upon seeing this thread for the first time. I forgot that I ordered the knife and ordered another one from Smith & Wesson directly. So, another in the way. That's fine. I really like the knife. I'll carry it. Just put the Microtech back on the shelf.

You have the S&W knife and I don't. Having said this, I can't imagine this knife is even half the quality of a Microtech!

I have about 6-7 Microtechs.

I am not sure how to quantify quality. Not sure what would make the Microtech so vastly superior.

This feels like a solid knife. My Microtechs, Spydercos, etc. feel like solid knives. Then again, I am not hard on them. Mostly used for such manly tasks as opening my wife's and daughter's Amazon packages. Most knives probably work for me.

As mentioned in the post above, I accidentally ordered two of these knives. I ordered one from Midway USA and another directly from Smith & Wesson (American Outdoor Brands). The knife from Midway shipped in the tiny box. The knife from Smith / AOB shipped in this plastic package.
