Hey Guys.....Im still looking for my Elusive S&W .39 Special Victory Model....and have found a couple I like....one looks real good...but doesnt have Government markings .(which I want).....another I found is a bit cheaper and does have the markings but has aftermarket S&W grips....how much trouble is it to locate a set of the WW2 Plain Wooden Grips..???....Ive solved the problem of locating a Lanyard Ring part....so now if this deal goes thru.....looks like will probably need a set of the wooden grips......does anyone have an idea what they usually run..?....and also a good place to start looking.......I really appreciate all the help Ive been given on this Great Forum.....Best Wishes ....Hans Fischer

M&P Pistol section. You may have better luck in the M&P Revolver section.

I'm assuming .39 Special is a typo and you don't mean the Model 39.

Agree with the above post, you need to get this over to the approprate revolver subforum. Just a couple comments - the Victory models without gov't markings are considered by many to much more interesting and desirable - you can never know just how they'l letter. Second, I'd always opt for the gun that is original in all respects - you can put on "correct" grips, but never the absolutely right ones that came with the gun and are thus numbered to it....

Right Grips & "Typo"

Thanks for the info on the grips....and I understand what you are saying about being numbered.....and have to laugh at me typing S&W .39.....//..hey worked hard all day....just cant type at nite.....thanks guys..

Hi..your note that the Victory models .without. the Government Stamping are more desireable interests me....as Ive just found two Victory models....one with the Government stamping and one without..sadly the one without is a couple hundred dollars more.....and if you will...please humor me and explain a little more about the desireablity of the Victory Models without the stampings.....I appreciate any and all opinions and help before I commit myself to buying one of the two pistols offered.....Best Regards.....Hans Fischer
