S&W vs Glock

I own four Glocks and two M&P FSs. I like the trigger, reliability, simplicity and parts availability of the Glocks. I like the ergonomics, aesthetics, magazines, steel guide rods and sights of the M&Ps. The M&P trigger has improved. The Glock Gen 4 trigger is heavier than previous generations.

If pressed to choose one, I would still narrowly choose Glock because it has proven to be so reliable in my range and limited competition use. I trust both, though.

I believe in diversification so I own both! S&W is to be applauded for catching up to Glock.

I have a Glock 30S and a Glock 26 gen 4 both fit my hand fine and the 30s will out shoot my 1911 E round butt, I also have a Shield 9 and a S & W M&P 9c. I like them all the S&W's had **** triggers so I put Apex Kits in now they are fine. Could not get used to carrying the Glocks without an external safety so I put one on both. The most accurate? I carry a Canak 55 which is a Turkish copy of a CZ Czech 15 rounds of 9mm that will take out the center of the target at 10 yards as fast as you can pull the trigger, easy to take down and cheapest gun I own. I lik a lot of different guns they are all fun to shoot best to fire a bunch and pick the one you like best. I would like to get a S&W .45C to try.

Out of the box, I like the Glock trigger better than the M&P's trigger. Aside from that, I like the M&P better in every other aspect. I just wish S&W would reduce the trigger pull to 5 lbs, but really I would love a 4 lbs pull. Once I get the apex trigger kit installed, I'm going to fall in love with this gun. I will admit that my EDC gun is a Ruger SR9c. It fits my hand better than the m&p 9c, and right out of the box, the SR9c (in my opinion) has a pretty nice trigger pull. I sold all of my Glocks. I haven't looked back.

Philly drop in a Apex hard sear and USB kit in your M&P, use your stock trigger spring, and you will have a 4 lb trigger. The stock sear block is what really handicaps the M&P trigger.
