I was supposed to be out of town last week, and decided that I should sent my M&P 45 back to have it gone through and inspected during that time. I had run just over 5000 rounds through the pistol, which I purchased in March 2009. I ended up not being able to travel, but S&W did a fine job and got the gun back to me this past Monday. They replaced the recoil spring and guide rod and several other springs. I had sent the magazines back also, but it did not appear that they did anything with them. They also made some updates, and I noticed that the trigger bar was new.

I put 300 rounds through the gun this week, and it ran like a well oiled machine. Accuracy is still tight and far better than the shooter. I would guess that 5000 rounds is the right interval for recoil spring replacement. I am happy with the service, and best of all, it cost me nothing.
