Ridiculous! If it's true, why would anyone change a venerable name that's 165 years old and recognized around the world? To replace the Smith & Wesson name brand with a new name, that has no identity or character, is beyond stupid.

Nothing to worry about. It's the holding company that's changing. They've bought other companies and they simply want to reflect their diversification in the name. Each one of the companies is retaining their own name.

Old news. S&W isn't changing the name. The holding company is.
This isn't the first time. What do you think it's been called to this day? Saf-T-Hammer Corp, which later changed its name to S&W Holdings Corp. Before 2001 it was called Tomkins PLC. And let's not forget Bangor Punta.
