Good Morning ya'll,

It's a great Sabbath morning in Dixie today. I am in recovery from a busy week of Doctor appointments, lawn mower repair and mowing the ugly yard, etc, etc.

I had the follow up visit concerning hernia repair, and received a good report. He just cautioned me to still take it easy through Sept 6, (a month since surgery), then I can do anything I want. There are a lot of things that I have to do, but don't want too. Maybe that means I can skip over them. :-)

The MBH had two visits and is slowly regaining her strength, thank God. She has arthritis and it really is hurting her. If you believe that God answers prayer, please add her to your prayer list.

On Friday I twisted my Buddies arm, and he went with me to carry my Martin guitars to have a highly recommend luthier look at them for possible fret replacement and/or repair. He tweaked the D-18GE and looked at the "28" and suggested I play them if they didn't rattle. All this at no charge. I was impressed with his up front suggestions and advice.

All it cost me was a BBQ plate at the Golden Rule BBQ. They have been in business since the 1890's.

Yesterday, another friend and I went to the 4th Saturday Pine Mountain bluegrass jam and stage show. I've wanted to go for a long time. A nice, well kept old school house converted into a community center.

Speaking of Saturday. Around here it's the works breakfast when the MBH feels like cooking. Yesterday, she knocked it out of the park. I had already mowed the lawn and I didn't have to be called to breakfast but one time.......

Homemade biscuits, bacon and eggs, fresh tomatoes and jalapeno peppers, and to top it off, recently canned fig preserves.
When I got to the table, she had opened a biscuit and placed butter in it. After it was melted and well soaked into the biscuit, I dribbled fig syrup on it. It was so good.......

I am a so blessed, even though she called me a grouchy old man this week, (she was right). :-)

Enough!

Hug a child today, and have a blessed Sabbath!!

Leon

Good Sabbath Leon,

Morning walks have still been murderous this week. 100% humidity.

We did mow the grass again. We are thankful for all the rain this summer, but I'm about yard-worked out!

On a good note, I came in first place at our cheap-ammo, 100 yard .22 match on Tuesday. This was my very first bench-rest win. It was a tough match as the heat and humidity made for bad scope mirages. It was like looking through a kaleidoscope at times.

We hope to travel to Alabama next weekend for my youngest granddaughter's birthday.

Praying for the Gulf and the big storm.

Praying for our Lord to raise-up and provide strong leaders. Remembering the terrible loss of our service members. May they RIP and their families be comforted.

Hello everyone. It's a little cooler today in southcentral PA. I was out for awhile and got the chance to talk with my new neighbors across the street. They are a young couple with a little boy. Most of my immediate neighbors work so I'm glad to get a chance to see them outside at home and talk to them.

I went to the practice match yesterday to prepare for the big regional match at Harrisburg coming up in 3 weeks. I was doing pretty good for awhile but later in the match my red dot sight was malfunctioning. Luckily I had a spare optical sight I picked up somewhere so i spent last night switching out the optical sights. I have a spare gun of the same model but with iron sights so I think I will go up to the indoor range today and sight them both in. I guess I'm just old school at heart. I'm glad I discovered this now instead of during the real match.

Everyone take care and enjoy the day.

Best to all on the Sabbath and hope everybody has a wonderful one. Take care on the recovery from surgeries a while back and prayers for MBH on regaining her strength and arthritis. The heat, the heat. LOL. At least this week is not as bad as last week here but our A/C went out a week ago this past Friday and got replaced last Wednesday, those 20 year old units do tend to go out at bad times. Waking up to a house that is 88 degrees in the morning is no fun and worse when it gets up to the mid 90s later in the day.

All the best to everyone.

Heck ya Leon, their isn't anything better than a great breakfast to carry you though the day. Yours sounds great and would be a first for me. Eggs, because I raise laying hens are always on my plate. Free range hens lay the best tasting eggs.
Keep the recovery going....and you know prayers not only work, but make a difference!

Definitely a week filled with tragedy for our service members who made the ultimate sacrifice and, of course, their families. God bless them all.

On the other hand, prayers were answered when our friend Lee and his wife were able to return home after surviving Covid-19. My very good friend, Wendell, got to go home yesterday after fighting and beating Covid-19 for approximately fifteen (15) days. He is still on supplemental oxygen and has some lung damage but, is alive.

I realize that accepting and taking the vaccine is a personal choice and everyone is entitled to their on opinion. As the son of a doctor, I was given every available vaccine and shot know to modern man. I had a very mild case of Covid-19 back in December 2020. I got the vaccine as soon as I was eligible.

The good news is that I have survived to hopefully see my next birthday tomorrow.

Stay safe out there, the Delta variant is real!

I apologize to all the service members here for not mentioning the troops that lost their lives trying to save others. We have been praying for them and the U.S. citizens still over there.

We must never forget them, and those that left them there.

Leon

Joe,

If you post photographs of biscuits like that you may want to warn your MBH, that she may need to prepare for "unexpected" breakfast guests!

Stay safe and healthy,
idlii

We will share what we have, and welcome! But, if you are used to eating "high on the hog" you might be disappointed. :-)

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Biscuits and Fig preserves is "high on the hog" and I haven't had any in years. I do get a few raw figs from a neighbor which are really good. Larry
