Well good morning ya'll, happy Sabbath to you!

I hope you had a great week and have a better one upcoming! Looking forward to hearing from all of you.

It's clear and 76° in Dixie at the moment, with rain in the forecast for about all of the up coming week.

I am a blessed man, got up early and read the Word, then stumbled around and managed to get my shower and shave.

While I was in the shower, my lovely MBH started breakfast. She baked some wonderful biscuits to go with the sausage, eggs, sliced homegrown tomatoes, and some of her recently canned fig preserves. Didn't Dizzy Dean say: "It ain't bragging if you can do it."? Well she can do it. Even though she has not been feeling well, she out did herself this morning.

Since I weighed in at 1/2 pound under my weight goal, she might be trying to fatten me up. :-) I must admit, I did my part.

We got out of the house for a while yesterday and drove up to, and around Cheaha Mountain. It was really hot so we didn't walk around any, but did stop somewhere in the shade and enjoy some biscuits and sausage for lunch.

I am about recovered from the hernia repair, but not quite, so I still take it easy on the chores. I did manage to mow the lawn Friday morning. The power steering (me) on the mower was kinda weak. :-)

Today is our Pastor's birthday, he is still a youngster though, about the same age as our girls. I'm gonna bless him with a small gift after service today.

Have a great Sabbath day, and for goodness sake, don't forget to thank Him for your health and your many blessings.

Tell and show somebody that you love them.

Very glad to hear that you are healing and by gosh, mowing the lawn of all things.

Going to warm up to 101* here in the "Biggest little city in the world" but it is August, don't you know.

Try to hug or kiss the family members when they come around if it is safe...
made the little wife happy last night with a meal away from the house.
Nothing like not having to do dishes and a favorite item on your plate.

God bless.

Good Sabbath Leon,

Morning temps are starting to cool a little. However, the humidity, or humility, as Lyin Mayo use to say, is rough along with the bugs.

I'll have to tell y'all about Lyin Mayo some time. "That's humility shore be a little high this here mornin, don't ya thank?" I loved growing up in the deep south.

We returned from Alabama completely worn out. MLW did the babysitting and I did a lot of home repair for our kids. "Why don't you do as much repair work at our own house, as you do for your daughter-in-law over here?" MLW asked me. "I think it has something to do with they way she asks me. She's so sweet and sends me loves-and-kisses in a card when we get home!" I replied without thinking. Yep, I'm in the dog house now.

We were able to send our youngest granddaughter off to day-one of kindergarten. She's a sweetheart!

Out of the blue, I received an unexpected check from my retirement system. So, since I never really bought me something special for crossing the finish line of retirement, I went down to my bud's gun store and bought an outrageous pistol.

I don't feel too guilty about spending the money on myself. When I retired they owed me for 360 hours of leave time. I spent all that check on a new roof for the house. I hope it shoots as well as it looks.

Good morning to everyone. It's another beautiful day in southcentral PA. We had a little rain last night and it feels a bit cooler this morning compared to the last few days. It should be a good day to get outside for awhile.

I got up and made one of my turkey, cheese and poached egg breakfast sandwiches. I developed it back in 2009 and still enjoy making it after all these years. My uncle and I traded our regular morning text messages so we all know that my aunt, uncle and I are good for another day.

We had a practice match yesterday at one of my clubs to get ready for the big regional match in Harrisburg last month. It's good to take out the fun toys and play with them since I have the time to do it about any time I want. Our club will have a good representation at Harrisburg.

Everyone enjoy your day.

Wow, what a nice gift. What model is that? I was looking at a Sig the other day, the 365P or something like that. But I'm thinking that I will help our youngest Daughter get her car out of the shop soon.

That is a very pretty Grand Daughter. She probably just melts your heart with that smile.

Thanks Leon. It's a Sig Sauer P320 AXG Scorpion.

It's a limited run from their custom shop. It's striker fired but has an alloy frame. The standard 320 has a polymer frame.

It has their competition trigger too with raised controls and their X-Ray3 day/night sights. It comes with a ridiculously nice TSA approved Italian case and the challenge coin.

The finish is Cerakote Elite which is supposed to be a premium finish.

I have some older classic West German SIG's (all metal) and this pistol has that same heavy feel.

It seems very well thought out. The guide rod is metal with a brass bushing.

Hello to one and all. wife and I did get to go to our worship service this A.M. Our pastor is preaching a series of sermons on the parables in Matthew. we ha a good service.

It has cooled off a bit in in Central N.C. and is raining right now . We have had rain all around us ; especially to the north and west all week but not much here. We surely need it. We are seeing some haze here and I presume that it is really smoke from the fires out west.

Anyway hope everyone has a great Lord's day and a blessed week . Stay well and be safe.
