Good Morning Everybody!

It seems quite in the neighborhood, a pleasant, but damp, 62° at the moment. Old Glory is hanging limp, waiting to be caressed by the morning breeze.
Ole Santa is probably still fast asleep after a really fast trip around the world. There were no cookies and milk left out for Him here, but some wonderful Christmas treats that made him glad that funny red suit was made from material that had some give in it. :-)

I hope that you all were able to spend some quality time with family, catch up on hugs, and "I Love You's". We gathered at our Oldest Daughter's place and shared a meal, exchanged gifts and just enjoyed the Special Day.

I gotta brag just a little bit: Last week someone mentioned the "Battle of the Bulge" in which lots of friends and relatives fought during the last stages of WWII. On a lighter note, I won my personal "Battle of the Bulge" of a different sort. I was dreading my Sunday morning weigh in today, but was pleasantly surprised. I lost 2.4 pounds since last Sunday!! My new Beltman leather belt will fit again as it's supposed to. I was back down to 153.8 pounds.

Remember to count your blessings as you reflect on the family gathering during the Christmas holiday. The glass is not half empty, it's at least half full, or maybe running over!

Enough!

Have a blessed Sabbath ya'll, I insist on it!

Leon

Good morning and a belated Merry Christmas brother Leon and all the rest of our brethren here.
A wet dreary holiday here in Pittsburgh. Today no rain but overcast a damp from the rain.
We hosted my Mother for Christmas Eve and Day. Didn’t want her to wake up alone.
My sister and I had a huge battle earlier this year and haven’t been on good terms which bothered our Mother.
I swallowed my pride and asked for her forgiveness, which she gave.
Looking back, she did have some valid points for which I am ashamed.
Water over the dam as far as I’m concerned and hopefully I learned a lesson.
Forgot to add our daughter stayed and brought her little calico cat, Marnie. Our old cat Peanut was not amused with the visitor to say the least. Ellie our Shih Tzu became the sheriff when the cats started hissing, and would run in to restore the peace. Marnie is a rambunctious little squirt. Exploring, running around causing general havoc. Fun to watch.
Good Sabbath and hopefully a good upcoming year to all.

Good Sabbath Leon,

We are finally back home. Our oldest son and family will be here tomorrow for a few days. So, Christmas continues!

It feels like summer here. Unseasonably warm.

My close friend learned last Thursday that he has prostrate cancer. Say a prayer for Bob, if you will.

Santa brought Quigley a new toy!

My youngest son made and painted this tree ornament for me. My favorite Christmas present this year.

May God bless!

CHRISTMAS CELABRATION

I was sitting here wallowing in self-pity, and reading the accounts of your blessed Christmas celebrations. Your accounts of your joyous celebrations, gave me a lot of pleasure, but also made me aware of the pain of mine.

My wife and I spent Christmas Eve, with our son, his wife, and their three dogs. They tried their best to make it a loving, memorable occasion. For several unmentioned reasons, it was my most painful, stressful, Christmas celebration, ever.

I’m not seeking pity. I provide enough of that myself. Likewise, I really do count my blessings. I'm merely trying to show that sometimes, it's not all joy.

A very nice Christmas was enjoyed by my wife and I with our daughter and her husband. The S-I-L and I went deer hunting on Friday and Saturday.

Saturday morning a 6 pt. presented himself but, at an awkward angle about 120 yards away, S-I-L held tight but, a safe, ethical shot was never presented.

We had roasted turkey breast, wrapped in prosciutto, along with a grilled blackstrap from an 8 pt. that I took last year. Root veggies, fruit salad and brussel sprout latkes. Yum!

When I was 16 years old, my "big gift" for Christmas was a Colt Huntsman, .22 LR. I still had the box, instruction sheet and warranty card. The pistol is still in 94/95% condition and has fired countless rounds without fail.

I had previously loaned the Colt to my daughter when she was working on her Phd. but, she never got a chance to shoot it and it was returned about three years ago. I made the decision to permanently gift it to her today, before they left on the return trip home. It will be perfect for them to use to use when the decide to pursue their TN Handgun Carry Permit. They have other handguns for self defense, including a S&W Mod. 60 that I gifted her when she was getting her Masters degree.

The grand dog, Boz, made the trip as well. He is just a hoot!

A wonderous and joyful Sunday. It started snowing last night just before sundown. A white Christmas!! Now we have 7-8 inches, SO BEAUTIFUL. And I no longer have to work outside in it. Just watch sitting next to the woodstove. Glad I have lots of Oak. Simple blessings. Happy Boxing Day to everyone. PTL!

All our familys from Calif to Idaho to Fla across to Ariz, up to Utah and here in Nevada, all had a outstanding Christmas and visits with family members
and even news on one on the way.............

Just got through making a trail around the house for the three dogs from the back door to the bedroom door and then did the front side walks and the drive way from the garage to the street for the wife's car , that just took off to go to her best friends house for a "Girls only party"...............

Might turn out to be a long time.........
I noticed she took a steak out of the freezer and has it sitting in the dish rack ? !

Happy holidays to all.

After moving 12" of snow, it is relax time and enjoying some football & snacks , the rest of the day !!

Hello everybody. I hope everyone had wonderful Christmas and a good day yesterday. I wasn't here yesterday because I didn't have my computer as my brother and I went up to Michigan to see our sister and her family and I didn't have my computer with me. I was so glad to be able to put his Christmas present in my nephew's hand instead of having to send it. I don't know what kids are into today, but to show my nephew I went out and did something special for him I gave him a bank envelope of $2 bills and some half dollars. I put the envelope inside of a big box just to increase the surprise.

We had some snow on the ground in Michigan this morning but it was gone by the time we got to Ohio. Rather than take the freeway all the way we decided to run some of the lakeshore roads along Lake Erie.

Everybody have a good rest of your evening.
