Same here in my neighborhood and surrounding blocks. About the only flags out are the few that are usually out on a daily basis.

I fear the lack of acknowledgment for what you and the many, many veterans did for our country will only lessen as time goes on and the younger generation grows up. :(

I was the only one on my block flying the flag, today. I don't fly the flag everyday, but I fly it on the appropriate days. Over the summer, the only other person to fly the flag, passed. So, I'm the last.

If anyone was flying a flag today in Colorado it would be frozen stiff from the snow. My flag hasn't even been up in a few months because I have to get around to replacing my flag pole so the wind doesn't knock it down. I think a lot of it has to do with how long our country has been at war. A kid born on 9/11 will graduate high school next May. He or she may join the service now with parental consent.

Sometimes I wonder if the name Veteran's Day might be too general. I somewhat prefer the British nomenclature - Remberance Day. I suppose we could go back to calling it Armistice Day.

When reflecting on the fact it has been a century now since the end of World War I, it astonishing to note the sheer number of casulties in the battles of that war. In some cases it seems as if more men were killed in one day than in several years of fighting in later wars.

Unbelievable!

Stupid condo rule: No flags of any kind! Not even in the window. This js suppose to keep other Peoples for feeling unwelcome. And to avoid sports fan clashes. The rule sucks, bigtime!
van

Wow, wow and WOW! Feeling unwelcome! The flag should remind those "people" where they live and be gratfull they live in the greatest country in the world. Sportsfan clashes! What's the fun of sports if you can't clash with your rivals.

Post the condo's email so we can all write them and express our "feelings" :D

Well, one particular notable gentleman skipped
the memorial service in France this year as well
as any memorial at Arlington National Cemetery.

Many Americans live in a bubble where their rights exist from them being so special, and magic.
They are not taught sequential history. They are told about a smattering of events that don't have anything to do with one another.
They change the channel when the story gets uncomfortable or inconvenient.
Our wars/conflicts don't make the evening news anymore.
It's just endless political posturing that makes Washington seem like another reality T.V./gossip show.
