I figure that'll fill about a half a page (double spaced). I don't personally know a soul whom did. Some folks modified them and some just flat out blew it off and yet others lost theirs in a series of tragic boating accidents.

Alot has happened lately since I started this thread, especially to the "3 men in a room who basically run the state"( a phrase coined by other members of the Legislature, who can't get a word in edgewise)
Two of them have recently been indicted for various financial schemes.
Now the 3rd person is having a noose prepared for him by the US Attorney, Preet Bharara who has stated "stay tuned".

So we basically had crooks making laws to make legal gun owners criminals. Kind of ironic.

Can't wait for number 3 to go down, not that our rights will be restored without court action, but sweet nontheless. :D

Starting to see some commentary on what the State of NY has released in response to court orders. It appears that approx. 5% of the so-called "assault weapons" estimated to exist prior to the SAFE Act passage have been registered. Some commentators have noted that the number of registered items includes those owned by law enforcement officers as well as some registered prior to the SAFE Act, so the actual rate of compliance with the new law appears to be about 2%.

Sounds to me like NY state government might have a little problem on their hands trying to enforce the new law. A number of police and sheriffs' departments have refused to do so. Those cases which have been brought appear to be mostly those in which other offenses have been involved and prosecutors are simply stacking on these new offenses (common practice, usually resulting in plea bargains with pleas to reduced charges and others dismissed).

Bottom line: estimated 1 million-plus New Yorkers are now felons in non-compliance with the SAFE Act requirements, and many law enforcement agencies are refusing to be involved.

Interesting. Might get interestinger.

LEO's had to register or lose their jobs. I think the numbers are very very low. Even evil/dangerous Ruger 10-22's and the like with thumb hole stocks required registration.
Yeah, I know.............

The stupidity and treachery of the facist regimes in NY, CA, IL, NJ, etc... know no bounds.

A bit more information:

More than 2 years after enactment of the SAFE Act, following 2,000 Freedom of Information Act requests and a lawsuit decided against the State of New York requiring disclosure of the information, now we know that the compliance rate (based upon the State's own estimates) is about 4.4%.

It is easy to see why the bureaucrats did not want to release the information. Will they now see how much worse they look after stonewalling for more than 2 years?

I agree completely with the president of the New York Rifle & Pistol Association, who reportedly said that it appears that the citizens of New York have "repealed" this law on their own.

The state budgeted some 30+ million to set up this failed registration scheme.

As a trooper friend told me awhile back, "who would register, the state is totally dysfunctional, they can't do anything right"

They're still working on background checks for ammo purchases. The y keep pushing the date back because they aren't anywhere near ready, and they've used up theirfunds...

Registering firearms - fail, Ammo Background checks - fail, Non-support of corrections officers/prison escapee's - fail; Politicians in NYS - fail. Living in NYS - They priced themselves out of reality.
