Safe queens ?? Never ever ever fired??

I've had safe queens, and enjoyed them when I owned them. I don't fault anyone for keeping guns in an unfired condition.

I don't own any now. There are some I haven't fired, but that's just been a function of time. None of them are pretty enough to be classified as a safe queen.

I have OCD really bad. That can cause you to not want to put ANY wear on a really nice gun. I have those that I shoot and those I do not shoot. The difference is condition. Why shoot a 98% condition firearm when you have a 80% condition version just like it. YMMV

I have a Browning Silver Hunter 12ga. Magnum presented as a gift in 2006 by a group of folks who worked for me at the time. There is an engraved silver plate affixed to the bottom of the pistol grip memorializing the event. It's never been fired and doubt it ever will...at least while I own it.

Hairtrigger, that’s an AWESOME display you have there! Do I spy a bottle of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon in your selection?
Larry

Stop over, we can shoot and then share some bourbon. I suggest you try the Willett Pot Stil

I don't understand why this silly discussion comes up so frequently. Can you believe there are actually coin collectors who won't bust open that roll of mint Morgan silver dollars and go spend them? What a travesty! Unjust! They have no right to horde them. They were meant to be spent.

I had a DPMS AR15 that was unfired NIB . I bought it at a very good price with the intention of never shooting it . I knew one day having an extra AR around would pay off . Fast forward almost 4 yrs , I found a guy that wanted an AR and was willing to trade for a Ruger MkIV Stainless Hunter . I was wanting a MkIV and jumped all over that deal . Dollar wise I made a helluva deal and ended up with a gun that I actually enjoy shooting .

I don't, financially, have the luxury of safe queens at this point in life. Would love to get there some day!

That said, I DO have some that I've either never fired or rarely get fired. But that's more a result of too many guns, too little range time. I don't own (or plan to own anytime soon) any guns that I would NEVER fire.

I do have a VERY clean Model 36 ND with the flat latch that I bought strictly because it was cool and clean. I'm in no rush to shoot it, if ever. I have other J Frames, I know how they fire. I just like to admire this one from time to time.
