Thinking about picking up an FDE 45c, unfortunately they only come with the goofy safety installed. How durable are the safety plugs (in other words, how well do they stay in place)? And where do you buy them?

Cant happen, they are specific, left or right side of pistol.

Wish I had a better picture. The full size picture/link in this post is courtesy/borrowed from Rastoff. The thumbnail is mine, I didn't think to take a shot looking down, but I think you get the point from the top view. You can see the way it inserts into the frame.

So pretty much no chance of them popping off at the worst of times & jamming the gun up, correct?

Not just pretty much no chance, absolutely no chance. This is one area you won't have to worry about. I have the plugs in my M&P .40S&W and took them out once for some pics. It was quite hard to get them out.

Of course, you could always add a drop of super glue.

Your welcome.

You really want to be popular? Karma off the parts when you do the job. Lots of people looking to add a safety. I did it with both my .40's and paid the shipping also. (like 6.00 each) I included the lever, spring and detent.

What goes around, comes around!
