I saw that this morning. Makes me ill.
I tried to catch that sale last Dec. but finally bought the last week of the month at the regular $319 price thinking the rebate was ending at the end of the year.
Made me sicker when S&W extended it to April.
Even without the rebate the $299 is a good deal. I don't think Bud's even carries them that cheap any more.

At least Bud's will ship you a firearm. Academy doesn't. There are quite a few folks that are not located near an Academy store. The closest one to me is 10 driving hours away.
Bud's is selling them, with a polished slide for 329.00 including shipping. POLISHED ! S&W Sigma SW9VE for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $329.00
So for an extra 30 bucks (+ 10.00 for my FFL to xfer it to me) I could get one shipped to me with a polished slide.
For those not located near an Academy, that could be getter deal.
Now, if Academy shipped firearms w/ no shipping charge, they would not be able to keep 'em in stock. I know Bud's has a hard time time keeping them in stock. About the only version they have in stock constantly is the model with the Cal. legal 10 round mags.

I used to hate reading about the great deals at Fry's electronics when I was four hours away, then I moved ten minutes away from one and am not as upset over it
So, just because it's not a good deal for some, it is still a great service to alert others who can take advantage of it.

Grog-That was my idea exactly,I thought it might save $20 for somebody that was in the market at this time.No telling when or if there will be another rebate. And I still suffer over the Fry ads-still not one close enough to justify the time and gas-but it is closer than Sleddog30 is to an Academy.

The Sigma is still on "special" for under $300 at Larry's Pistol & Pawn. The last S&W I bought there was shipped for $3.00; I think there regular shipping is reasonable.

Don't forget, Academy will knock an additional $50 off if you open an Academy credit card the same day.

I checked out the Academy website, and can't find any info on a $50 credit/rebate for opening an Academy charge.
Is this a local store offer in TX only, or should I visit/phone somebody in the Mobile, AL store to ask them about this?
The extra $50 off would make a .40 Sigma on sale pretty hard to pass up, even without a S&W rebate.

What I see online is you get a $25 gift card for every 2500 points you "earn".
You get 1000 for opening up an account and 5 points for every $1 you spend there (1 point for every $1 spent elsewhere).
If you buy a gun for $300, you get 1500 points. That and the 1000 you get at first will push you to the 2500 point needed to get a $25 gift card.
You could also buy a used car for $5000 and use those points to get $50 in gift cards
Don't laugh, there have been people who used credit card points to buy $1 coins from the U.S. Mint in lots of $1000, then took the coins to the bank to be cashed in for regular money to pay the credit cards they used to buy them and they got "free" money from teh credit card companies.
