I'm getting ready to book a six day raft trip on the middle fork for my daughter and I for next summer. Anybody done this trip (or perhaps similar trips) who can recommend a particular outfitter? I've done some research online, but figured I'd see if anybody here has had personal experience. I'm taking each of my three teens on separate vacations over the next year for a little one-on-one bonding time before they leave the nest, also because they each have very different ideas of what makes a fun vacation.

What a great dad:)

BTW,I'm available for adoption;)

That one-on-one is one of the best investments. We are still surprised by recent children's comments about trips decades past. Enjoy.

Nothing local to you, but if you get down east Maine, outfitter Northern Outdoors in The Forks runs great trips on the Kennebec river, with additional challenges offered on turbine test days at the dam.

I strongly reccommend Huges Expeditions! They are (in my humble but correct opinion) the very best. They go before the rafters and set up camp with gourmet food and clean restrooms. They break it all down and advance ahead of the guests for the next stop. They supply a guide for each raft and have an excellent safety record. They are extremly well organized and send a packet with all the trip information needed. They let you know what clothing you will need, where to meet at and will answer any questions you may have concerning the trip. My son took the trip and could NOT stop talking about the memories he made and the sights he saw. It's a lifetime experience and if you can't afford it, let me know and "I'll" pay for it! OK just kidding about the money thingy.....but seriously, Hughes is THE way to go.

Thanks. They are one of the outfits on my list.

Enjoy Idaho while you are here. Some of the best outdoor adventure opportunities in the nation.
And great dad decision to take each of the kids separately. The one on one will never be forgotten by either participant.
