Samson Shield Magwell

Got a Samson magwell for my Shield today. Uses the 8rd magazine with the spacer removed.

Simple install and feels solid on the gun.

Could you do me a favor please and measure from the top of the slide to the bottom of an inserted 8 round mag?

Quick aproxmimate measurements.

At the front of the magwell: 4.8"

At the rear of the magwell: 4.75"

Does this mag well keep you from using 7 round mags? If not, does it make insertion of a 7 rounder very difficult? If the answer to either is yes then I’ll pass. I have at least 10 mags for my Shield and half are 7’s. I also have 3 with Hyve extenders. I think they would also be excluded.

Wish I knew about that before I got into the 7rd Pearce grip extension route.

So what is the purpose of this if it limits you to 8rd mags and no magazine extensions...my 7rd is a +2 Strike Industries and all my 8rd mags (5) are +2 Hyves...it just replaces the spacer?
