Sandwich Experimenting

I go bonkers for really good Italian sweet and spicy sausage, onions and peppers on a hollowed out Italian or French bread. Unfortunately for me that is something my wife will not eat so I never make it at home. I have often made it in our hunting camp but it's been a couple of years since I did that as well - some of the fellas can no longer deal with the indigestion afterwards - lol. About a month ago we found an Italian Restaurant not far from the house that has the best sausage, onions and peppers I have had in years! I ate like I was going to the electric chair - lol. I am really drooling to go back soon!!

Now that sounds fantastic. My friends used to make that on the outside grill. I'm too lazy to do it myself because I really hate cooking.

Pretty hard to beat fried Spam with spicy mustard on fresh white bread.

I have always liked crispy fried Spam with melted American cheese and mayo on white bread.


My mom held a special place in her heart for Spam as food rationing was strict in the UK (one egg a week per household member).

When the Yanks showed up they brought Spam with them.

Only thing better than a Italian sausage sandwich is a smoked hot Italian sausage sandwich. Especially with garlic/butter grilled roll. Making some more this week.

Lots of great suggestions!!!!

Yesterday was another hollowed out ciabatta onion roll, Mancini sweet fried peppers, imported grated parmesan, several slices of of Cittero pepperoni, ham, aged provolone, sautéed spinach in olive oil and garlic, olive oil and balsamic vinegar
 
Just tomato and Helmans
Just fried pan sausage with yellow mustard on toasted bread
Spam sammich with mustard and Helmans
The last 2 dressed with tomato, lettuce, pickles and onion.
2 slices of Bologna in a plastic baggie with a slice of onion between em thrown on your truck dash for a couple of hours in the summer on bread, dressed or not.
 
I was out back working in the vegetable garden when Mrs. RSBH44 hollered that lunch was ready. “ Whats for lunch” I asked “leftovers” she replied. Leftovers indeed. I sat down to a plate of Bacon macaroni and cheese sandwiches made on Buttermilk biscuits.
I wish I would have thought to take a photo for this thread.
