I just saw this post. I know it's the pits when nobody answers a question. My family did the SASS thing in the very beginning. Mom and Dad are deseased now and were postumously honored with an induction to the Sass Hall of Fame. Dad was there at the beginning did all the props and crated all the stages. A guy who wears badge number one says it was his idea.....
After the folks left the Wild Bunch, they started OWSA (Old West Shootist Assn) and hosted an annual week long match in June at the NRA range SW of Raton NM. I would love to find a group that shoots the original idea of End of Trail (before SASS) that dad worked so hard to get established of laid back, shoot what you have (and we will loan you what you don't) and easy on the dress code and entry fees. I wore tennis shoes and didn't own a cowboy hat at the very first End of Trail.
