I've had this pistol since the early 1970's and always loved the way it shot... except for the numerous FTF'S and FTE's.

Let it sit for many years (assuming that it Would somehow fix itself, but it never did! :()

Anyhow I took it to Gander's "gunsmith" to tune the magazine. $50+ later, same problem.

A little research and I decided to try a new magazine (I know GENIUS right?). Bought a Triple K #990M on line for $22 plus shipping and took it to the range. Ran 200 rounds of five different ammo brands through it without a single FTF or FTE. :):):)

It is no longer trade-in material.

Glad you got it fixed. I have a Citation that I have had for many years. I like it better than a S&W 41. I have always wanted a Victor, they are nice. Don

well. i don't understand how a magazine could solve a failure to eject if that is what you abbreviated.
High Standards unlike most other 22 semiautos do not have a frame mounted feedramp. Bullet alignment and subsequent feeding is provided by the mag feedlips. These have to be "tuned" to very precise specifications otherwise one will experience FTF / FTE. I have several HS and they are quality guns; however I never could understand why they designed it this way

Ya gotta love High Standard! Both my old Sport King and Victor 10X have served me well, so I can't complain.
And it's nice too know another Victor will be earnings it's keep again! Dale

1sg nailed it. The FTE's happened when a round didn't full seat and I had to push the slide to full close it. I should have been clearer in the OP.

Most info I've read on HS Victor mags said to order directly from HS in Texas, and not buy the Triple K brand.
The Texas mags are made for and tested with CCI SV ammo and perform best when used with it.

The HS "VICTOR" is a GREAT 22, the older ones I know.

I heard there were many people with problems with the newer era production ones.

I have a HAMDEM CT. made one from the 70's. LOVE IT.

When I finally put a RED-DOT on it, it just puts 10 for 10 in the 10 ring for me from the bench,

I'm too old to stand up and shoot 1 handed anymore.

MY GUN, MY RULES, I just relax in a chair at the bench, and bust the 10 ring to my hearts content.

Ah! Retirement does have its benefits.:D:D:D

I have a 70's-vintage Hamden 107and really want to put an UltraDot on it for bullseye (I have a model 41 now), but just can't bear to drill and tap it.

I bought 2 of these mags from Cheaper than Dirt for my Mitchell citation they are GREAT and they didnt have a plastic base like the original one did that cracked and I had to make a new base from aluminum, they work fine in my real Hi Standard military model, a great buy. Jeff

I had always wanted a Victor. I was able to trade into one last year that is a later model Hamden gun. I love it. I have owned some very fine rimfire autos and the Victor is the best shooting of all I have tried. I need a couple mags so I will look into the triple K's.

I have owned, shot, and traded off 3 Mod 41's over the years, but I still shoot my H S Victor I bought in 1983. It's had a few modifications over the years, Vitarbo grips, and Falcon barrel with red dot sight.

Nothing wrong with the High Standards, tough to beat "one hole" groups.......

the Trophy has a "spare" 5 1/2 in barrel drilled & tapped for the red dot, leave the long fluted barrel "as is, with the muzzle break.........
the slant grip Victor is a pretty scarce version, new in the box and yes it IS "unfired"........
