Is he still on this board? I haven't seen his posts in several years. Maybe I just missed them.

We used to differ on which S&W's were safe for Plus P ammo.
I was concerned that someone might fire Buffalo Bore or other hot loads in a 1915 gun. The restricted Plus P Plus ammo has also sometimes reached the public and may be loaded very hot.
 
He got his little feelings hurt.
He chose the name SaxonPig.
He had a signature line that said something like "It's insulting to call me Pig"
Over the years, I've sorted out numerous little firefights over his silly habit of taking offense if someone addressed him as "Pig" or "Mr. Pig".
On this day, I decided I was done with it-
Victory grips, Whats up?

I deleted many posts in the above linked thread that was a firefight, some of which I just restored for the benefit of this discussion.
I changed his signature line to "I chose the name"
I dinged him with a point for an inflammatory post.

In a PM exchange that followed, this was my last reply-

He did not reply.

 It makes no sense to endure a repetitive problem that can be fixed- i.e. change the name or quit whining about the short version. I have better ways to spend my time than repetitively refereeing those pissing contests. ;)

He is not banned.
He just took his toys and went home. :D

Yes I remember him being sensitive about his name, never understood that one or why he chose his name to begin with. I remember him as being highly opinionated and perhaps a little pretentious, but he had a very large collection which I know counts for a lot in some circles.

S.P. appeared to be a well educated and sharp person. Sadly he had/has a huge ego, and a serious chip on his shoulder. I for one am just as happy he no longer posts here, as all his anger really got old.
 
Ya know, I kinda enjoy the eccentricities our members exhibit. I wish SaxonPig (PhD) well. (Then again, I am not a moderator and do not have to police the flare ups our members’ eccentricities occasion. I get to just stand back and watch. :))

I would be curious how many men the OP would be willing to call pig to face to face.:rolleyes:

Just a little thread drift but I AM HAPPY WHEN WE ASK "WHAT HAPPENED TO ZYZ??". I travel the world so I have few friends and most of them are on this forum. Maybe I need to get out more but it is the truth.
When we had the Bagram Airfield bombing I contacted Lee though another method and asked him to post I was OK.

Y'know, growing up in our little town, there was always some doo-dah who insisted on poking the skunk with a stick just to see what would happen.

It's kinda like eating gas station sushi or dating a girl whose father sports a bunch of prison tattoos. No matter how good you think it is, you're later gonna wish you hadn't done it.

Likewise, there are always going to be those who are going to argue with the moderators, thinking that the rules don't apply to them.

I'm not going to tell them how sorry I am to see them go and wish they would come back. Heck no! It was their choice to act like a bozo. There are too many people here with good sense, good opinions, and good manners to grovel to the whims of those who either won't obey the rules or choose to act in a negative or contentious manner.

Just my two cents worth.

I stopped posting because it seemed like I was being insulted and belittled with too much frequency. Saying "Got his little feelings hurt" doesn't strike me as a mature comment. But I have learned that on a discussion forum it's useless to argue with somebody who has all the buttons. I still don't see why so many can't understand that SaxonPig and Pig are not the same thing. Whatever. All I could do was walk away.

I have published three novels with a fourth in the editing stage and a non-fiction manuscript is also near completion.
