Scam On GunBroker? You are blocked? On my desk top only phone works

Have any of you members encountered a "You have been blocked" message on GB ? Asking for my IP address and to e mail GB about thr problem? Looks like some sort of scam! Claiming I have entered questions with sensitive words? Big red notice fills the entire page Comes up again when I attempt to go to GB site via Google What is happening? help please. all I did was go to GB on my bookmarks.

GunBroker did something similar to me a couple of years ago.
The only way I could get unblocked was to send in a picture of me holding up my drivers license and a utility bill.

I asked why they were doing this to me as I had been a member over 20 years with all A+ feedback.
They said it was due to my email being hacked.
IMO that is a bunch of crap as I have not had any problems with any other website.

GB blocks some VPN's.

^This. BrokeGunner and several of the online auction sites now compare your registered address with the area implied by your IP address. If there is a mismatch, they close up shop on you. Heck, there is even one gun forum I could name that dislikes VPNs, probably because they have a trader board like we do.

Me too…..they never answered my question………that has saved me a bunch of money. Not going to support them ever again.

Would be oh so nice if they just told you that. Rather than "suspicious traffic noted coming from your IP" and their code isn't intelligent enough to tell traffic from one session vs traffic from another session?
