Hello,
Can someone help to find the lightest available grips for a scandium J-Frame M360?
Did think that in order to honour this very light Snubby, it should have the lightest grips available isn't it? or am i wrong?
Did ask Hogue and Alumnagrips if they do some in aluminium, they do not !
Saw some old round top grips (collinscraft i think) that just cover the minimum frame, but they are probably more heavy (wood or corian) than the hogue rubber bantam grips?
Who could do this on special order?
Does anyone have an idea?
Thanks

I just replaced the Hogue bantams on my M&P340 with a set of wood stock S&W J frame grips. They are much smaller as they only cover the bare minimum and I'm pretty sure they are lighter than the Hogues. The Hogues are pretty dense.

If you like lasergrips, the CT hard plastic style are very light.

Good advice. I had a set of the rubber over mold CTs on my M&P and they were light weight and very thin, barely thicker than the grip frame. I liked them a good bit but needed some $ so I sold them.

These used to be made by Safariland/Rogers
for J, K & N frame Smiths. They are a composite
and weigh next to nothing. They came in black
and in a wood color and extended below the frame
for a 3 finger grip with an open back strap.
I had my 2 black J's cut just below the frame (closed bottom)
and the wood color cut flush with the bottom
of the frame (open bottom). The work was done by the gunsmith
at King's Gun Works in Glendale, CA.
You can still find them at gun shows every now and then.
My 2 black ones are on my 340 PD and my 640 (38),
so they fit my hand exactly the same regardless of which
gun I choose to carry. The shorter ones were on the PD for a while,
but the slight increase in length on the black ones hide pretty much the same
and give me a more secure grip (ring finger too).
And before you ask if they're for sale,
the smaller ones are on my nickel 442.
I wish I'd have bought more way back when.

That's what I have on my 360J, it's the model LG-105. I think they're great they don't weigh much at all.

I'm not sure Corian is light stuff. I seem to remember it as some pretty dense material. ( Those would look good though.) FWIW, I like the hip grip style. Very light and saves teh weight of a holster.

This is verified by a postal scale.
My 337 is lightest with a regular set of wood magna's and a tyler adapter. This combo is a lot lighter than any rubber grips.

Stefano,
If you find a pair to replace your grips and want to sell the factory rubber grips let me know. I've been looking for a factory pair for my 360pd.
Thanks
