Chicago....nuff said.
At first they thought about just using signs that read "No Guns Allowed", but realized that the product of their educational system may not be able to read well enough for that to work.
I understand being nice to people. Don't be rude. Just because you can't agree is not a reason to insult but some people have such stupid ideas that I think they should be told they are stupid and to shut up and go stand in a corner.
LarryI was going to post "why do ya gots no love for the Hi-Power?" (or words to that effect), but you beat me to it.

Perhaps it would have been less offensive if they used a picture of a half-eaten pop tart or a kid's fingers mimicking a pistol?!?!?!?

Well you know they can't put the picture on it because guns aren't allowed in school, even drawings someone could get suspended.

As Glenn Reynolds has taken to saying, putting your kids in public school is starting to look like child abuse.
Saw a sign the other day that summed up the best place for people like that principal, "Prison". Everyone is the same (no class envy), only the guards have guns, double fenced, and individuals are locked up most of the time. Very safe environment, and most importantly only the "authorities" are armed, liberal nirvana

They can change it from an image of a gun to the word "Gun" replacing it. However, I doubt many of the students can even read that word--let alone the lawmakers and ""educators.""
