Schools unlawfully prohibit weapons in Oregon.

Statistically he shouldn't worry at all as it's unlikely his child will ever be threatened with great bodily harm in his life.
Not really. Depending on which definitions you want to use there is up to an 83% lifetime chance of threatened of victimized by violence. It's just not very likely at school...

The vast majority of people who carry will never experience a need for it, so if we live by the stats the way you suggest we really shouldn't bother to carry at all. It's a non-argument to me as I've already passed the point of just hoping for the best and doing nothing to plan for an improbable but bad possible outcome in my day.
Please don't make things up and then claim I said them. I have never suggested anyone should live by the stats, although most of us do without even realizing it. What I do suggest is that one should understand what the reality is and make decisions based on as much knowledge as one can get.

Carrot, I think the wisest course of action for you is to not carry, contact and attorney and take the School District to court. You may get some help with fees from pro firearm organizations in your state.

That was what was required here in Utah to get the University of Utah, which banned carry on campus, to comply with the states concealed carry laws.

73.6% Of All Statistics Are Made Up - Business Insider

Torture numbers enough and they'll say anything.:)

Once is enough for me.

That's my view. I don't care about opinions from statisticians, or dime store mister experts. I always trust my instincts. But now I no longer have a child in school. In Texas you can have one only in the parking lot, secured in the vehicle at a public school.

I never care what the statistics are when I go to breakfast in the morning, that nothing is likely to happen. I still carry.
Nor do I care what the stats are sitting in my living room. I
still carry. I see some no gun signs on Texas schools where
they drive in, but none of them are the statutory signs. If
I had a reason to drive into their parking lot I would leave my
gun secured in the vehicle, because I am law abiding.
