Hi all,
I've just purchased a 15-22 and love it. I'm looking at scopes and have read just about every thread and posting via search for the past 2 days.
I'm considering the following scopes and would like your input.
Thank you...especially considering how often these questions are raised.
Nikon Pro Staff 3x9-40 at $149 at Dicks
Buschnell Banner 3x9-40 at $89 also at Dicks
BSA Sweet 22 3x9-40 for $60 at Dicks with rings
Center Point 3x9-32 for $60 at Dicks with rings
The prices at opticalplanet are similar and they are all in stock at Dicks. Gander has some in stock at similar prices.
I tried the Nikon and Buschnell at Dicks and they both seemed quite nice giving the nod to the Nikon for perhaps a bit more sharpness in clarity at 9x focused as far as possible.
I was not able to look at the other 2 as they were in clam shells.
I do have a Center Point 3x9-40 on my wife's Ruger 10-22 and it is a very nice scope. I bought it at a local gun show. I'd buy another but can't find the persons business card I bought it from and don't want to wait until next August.
I typically shoot at our local ranges from 50 to 100 yards at paper targets. I've used the iron sights and while quite nice for close in shooting I have to guess where the rings are and hope for the best...which is pretty good...great gun...but I'd like to see the rings hehehe...eyes at 57 years aren't what they were a few decades ago and my arms are getting shorter too.
Thanks for the help and suggestions.
