I have zero experience with mounting scopes on S&W revolvers. That said, I need to mount a 1" diameter scope on a Model 629 Performance Center revolver SKU 170181. The revolver has an included rail that mounts to the barrel with four screws.

Can anyone out there point me in the right direction? What set of rings would offer a solid, streamlined base for a 1" scope on this revolver?

Thanks in advance!

I like the Burris Weaver style "Zee Rings". They're not expensive, they look nice, work well, and they have a variety of heights, diameters, and finishes. And they're made from steel. Aluminum rings can be problematic.

Zee Rings hold up well to magnum recoil. You can get the full line of Zee Rings at Brownells.

I wouldn't worry about buying another base. You said one was included. Since it attaches with four screws it sounds like a good one.

Thanks, Kernel. Got 'em ordered. The Brownell folks helped me pick the correct height. Their "CHAT" feature is worthwhile.

Brownell shipping estimate is 7-10 days so it will be a while but I'll let you know how the mounting job works out.

Thanks!
