I took off the carry handle on my sport and mounted the scope with the high rise mounts directly to the rails. I didnt see the front sight however I found out when you wear the micky mouse's ( I have some hearing loss so I use double protection ) I couldnt see thru the scope without dislodging the ears so now I am going to try and put a 1 inch riser on her.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I hear you on the double up, I don't though, and I use ear plugs when shooting a rifle just because the over the ear protection does get in the way.

Perhaps you could find some better in the ear plugs?

I'm with you on doubling up...
I used a 3/4" riser and have no trouble getting close to aim through the scope with the "ears" on.
I do most of my shooting through the scope and take the riser off when using the BUIS'.

I have a pair but they dont work anywhere near as good at noise reduction. But thanks for the thought :D

I had an audioligist fit me for some great silcon ear plugs. Best darm 50 bucks I eve spen. There all I wear anymore. No more muffs to deal with. Even works well at an indoor range shooting 357 mag revolvers.

i use a halfl inch riser over my rail and under the scope mount, wihtout it i would never get it sighted

We both have electronic muffs and they work real well, most of the time I prefer the little foam plugs but the electronic muffs work well with some of my rifles.

These are rated at 31db. You could also go with electronic low pro hearing protection and use ear plugs.

Thanks I already ordered a 1 in riser for the 15's but if they dont work I will try them.

I really do need double protection I have Industrial hearing loss and already have ringing in my ear all the time.

I mounted my scope on a carry handle on my sport and can use the iron sights looking through under the scope.
I bought low profile Winchester muffs $13.99 and Winchester plugs $2.47 from Wally World. Both work well for me.

I had carry handles on my 15's but took them off because they are a bit to high so now I went to low.......Im hoping the 1 in riser is just right............. geeez now where did I hear that before lol ;)

It looks like the 1 in riser is perfect for me and i do not have a problem with my ear muffs and I can see out of the scope easy

now its just right :D

I have a 1/2 inch riser plus the sniper pepr, if you put a tape to it it comes out to a little over an inch of rise!!
