I have very little experience so i figured it would be faster to ask than to try it repeatedly and cause frustration.
I have my scope a 3-9x40 on a 1/2" riser mounted on my 15-22 and if i was to take it off at the riser and use another optic will the scope require sighting in again once its put back on in the same exact spot?
I think it would have a better chance taking it off at the riser than taking it off at the rings.
I see this gun as a great place to hang accessories as its the only gun i own that i don't rely on for its reliability, Those i keep basic and stock.
I say this as id like to try other optics but not to interested in it if i have to re-sight it in to a high degree every swap.
Id expect a turn here or there at 100 yards, But if its off more than an inch or two it may not be worth messing with.
My riser is just a 2 knob style and nothing special but i suspect its not warped and crap.
