Already there!Started 5 years ago, which the doc said was pretty good.
I have multifocal contacts which are okay. I can read my watch and see road signs. But what I can't do while wearing them is read the hang tags on rifles sitting on the rack behind the counter.

I have the same problem!
I think my problem is my disbelief at the prices! I remember when most guns were a lot cheaper- of course that was a few years ago!Max I can still shoot with no eyeglasses

Me too. I had Cataract surgery a bunch of years back and went for the long distance. Great for shooting. But I bought a pair of cheaters to read fine print (because my arms were too short
).I talked to my optometrist about lasik but he said at my age I'd still need reading glassed for near vision. I'll stick with glasses since I'm always wearing them. I know i'll forget to bring the reading glasses with me...and I'm too young to have them dangling around my neck on a chain.
I really only need glasses when driving and that's only so I can read street signs from distance. As far as my shooting I'm still dang good!!!
....and yes that was quite funny!! Nice chuckle after a pretty tough day at work.
My sentiment is that you shouldn't be handling firearms if you can't take a joke.

Well, the inexpensive eBay scope probably isn't going to work out. I like the little scope and may very well put it on my Mini 14. Seems pretty decent, especially for the price. However, it only has 3" of eye relief. After removing the rear sight and using some risers to move the scope to an extreme rear position, I still can feel the charging handle waiting to smack me in the cheek. There is a little clearance but not enough to tempt me to fire a live round with my face that close to the rear of the gun. Well have to try something else.
