Scope Sighting

First guess would be 1/4"...Recently sighted in a Nikon P223 at 25yds and when fired at 100 yds it shot 7'' high. Made an adjustment of 28 clicks (1/4" per click at 100yds) and next shots were zero`d nicely. Sorry to hit you with a math problem. Hope this helps.
What optic are you using that is 1" per click at 100yds?

Hi:
Using an older Weaver K-4 Scope. I more than likely wrong on the "Click" which could be 1/4" movement at 100 yards ?
While in Tennessee a relative switched scopes on several rifles which had previous been sighted in. Now I am going to have to re-install the original scopes on the original rifles and re-sight them in.

1/4" per click at 100 yards sound more realistic. This would lead to 1/16" per click at 25 yards (and 1/8" at 50). You should be able to get a rough sight-in at 25 yards but you will likely need to tweak it a bit for 100 and beyond. Commonly, 308/7.62 is zeroed at 200 yards. This will result in hitting ~1.6" high at 100, 2.5" low at 250 yards, and 0.25" high at 50 yards - well within the 'kill zone' of any animal being hunted with this caliber at these ranges.
