With all the long tube 44s making their way into the safe poor ol' Hedley was feeling a little inadequate.

As luck would have it, a fellow IHMSA shooter (and mentor) had a sweet 3" 629-1 that he was looking to part with to make room for another caliber handgun. As partial as I am to the long toms I still love a big bore snubby so I couldn't pass this one up.

Here's the obligatory dirty pic with it's younger brother the PC 44 Magnum Hunter.

And now Hedley's a happy camper!!!

Really nice gun. That's a fake smile on Hedley tho.

629 shoots REAL bullets-Hedley only B L A N K S...........

Thats a sweetheart for sure, good looking set of combats.
Is it a LH? Not that it makes a big deal. I bought mine thinking it wasn't and come to find out it was in the first batch. Give Hedley a biscuit, tell him it's from the ironworker:D

On the hunt for one of those myself, they're like unicorns in SE North Carolina, or at least my part of it. Great looking gun!

I gave Hedley the biscuit. He said thanks!! Not a Lew Horton gun. I emailed Earl and he said it didn't fall into the serial number range. No biggie though, still a nice shooter!

That's a sweet piece! I now have two and lucked into both of them. The only gun I like better than a 4" .44 Magnum is a 3" .44 Magnum!

Thats beautiful! I'm currently looking at the Talo Deluxe 357 and 44mag, in 3". Wonder how 44mag would shoot in a snubbie! Lol

I can tell you how 44 mag shoots in a snubbie. It's a handful!! You may have noticed in the pics that I swapped out the combats for rubbers. I was shooting a medium range load that was manageable but still not one to blast continuously. I'm not into the pain thing any more. A 3"er is more suited for a stout 44 spl load.
