Stopped into an LGS today on a whim. My lovely wife was with and I asked if they had anything interesting. “Well, we’ve got this little kit gun”……

4 inch nickel with Harretts. It’s in perfect condition. Has been fired but I don’t think the barrel was ever cleaned. Had $800 on the tag. I countered with $700 and he took it. I spent some time on the barrel and it cleaned up perfectly. I also had a set of J frame targets somehow in the “extra grip box” at home. They need tome Murphys and Lemon Oil but that’ll give me something to do tomorrow….

There’s excess oil on the barrel and in front of the cylinder from cleaning. I should have wiped it off before the pic. I’ll snap another tomorrow after the grips get some love.

This is my 2nd 34-1. I’ve got a 2 inch blued I’ve had for years. I’m astounded with how much they’re worth now!

Nice

Great score. I grab every pair of Herrett’s I come across as they fit my hand like no other. If you decide to sell them now that you have Smith grips on it let me know.

Wish my LGS had something like that.

Looked it up. Made in 1981.

I couldn’t stand it. Did the Murphys and Lemon oil this evening. Grips look better.

Great pair.

Yep the barrel pin was eliminated between when these two were made.

Is the 2" a round butt? Looks like the grips started life as a pair of I frame Regulation Police square butt to round butt conversion grips.

A coat of Birchwood Casey Tru Oil will make them look like new.

Nope, square butt. They look great in person. I don’t shoot the 2 inch much. Now that it’s got a bigger friend it needs to go to the range more. I’ve got an 18 and a 17 as well.

Did you fit/modify the grips or did someone else and they come with the gun? There is a serial # on the inside of the right grip which will tell us which I frame they originally came on; .32 or .38 S&W.

Very nice!

They’re really sweet little revolvers. I picked this one up a few years ago with the original grips and found these and couldn’t resist. Next I’d like a 2”.

I bought the grips off eBay. I’ll pull them off and take a look tomorrow.

For that price IMO you did VERY WELL!! love the 2" cousin in the photo with it!!

Mine is the 4 inch blued with round butt! Excellent, fun little shooters for sure! Congrats.
