I had never seen the frame mounted decocker 3rd Gens before and have seen two in the last two weeks. Missed out on a 6926 but today I scored a 4536! Traded a 5906 with a few extra mags and a little ammo. Some might say too much but I can find another 5906 don't figure I'll see many 4536s.

You did very well. Local shop had (probably still has) one in very nice, nearly new condition,....for $700.

Enjoy it.

Can anyone enlighten me and tell me why the magazines have a message stating it must have a yellow follower? What's that all about? Or is that just an indicator of a genuine SW magazine?

Very nice find, congrats! Seems like lots of scarce models have been changing hands lately....

The scarce stuff has been showing up more of late, likely because the prices they are fetching makes it tempting to consider selling. I ran across a second 4536 recently as part of a possible trade deal and may end up with another one if the deal works out. I would probably consider selling one gun if the offer was strong enough. Though, it would be really hard to actually do, as this is one of the most perfect (to me) compact 45 carry guns. I'm a frame decocker fan anyway and the slick slide and bobbed beavertail make for relatively snag free carry. The Jinks letter (see attached below - sourced from GB ad) said "the pistol was especially redesigned to be an undercover handgun for law enforcement agencies." He also mention Smith having T&E examples in inventory ('vault guns') since the 736 gun 1990-91 production run, which may account for the few recent sales that have appeared seemingly out of nowhere.

Cobra, hold the phone, something funny here. First let me go to easy one. There was a mag/follower change on the .45's because of the an alledged issue of an extra round being stripped from the magazine during firing. Be aware that is not gospel, that is to the best of my foggy memory.
Now the oddball stuff. Your 4536 appears to be cut to use the less common TSW mags. I'm not saying it is not factory, but not the 4536 I am used to. Again, please don't take that to the bank as I have severe memory loss. I will send you a pic of mine when I get back to my desk where pics are.
More to come, fuzzy

Scored a 4536 at a LGS today - never thought I'd see one much less in Ca. or at my local pusher! Matches my 4526. Now....need to find a 4576!

I have a 4576 with the round trigger guard. Always wanted a 4536 to keep it company. Maybe some day I'll find one or just sell the 4576.:(
